PI, Pan American Climate Studies (PACS) Science Team (2000 - 2004):
Led NOAA-funded effort to derive cloud properties from satellite data to help understand circulation in the eastern Pacific.

Co-I, Triana Science Team (1999-2002):
Led team to develop techniques for deriving global radiation budget and cloud properties from the Triana satellite in an L1 orbit.

PI, NASA AEAP Subsonic Assessment (SASS) Science Team (1994-2001):
Led research team to determine contrail effects on climate.

PI & Project Scientist, NASA First ISCCP Regional Experiment (FIRE), 1985-2000:
Led research team to develop and validate new methods for retrieving cloud properties from satellite data.

PI, DOE ARM-Unmanned Aerospace Vehicle (UAV) Science Team (1995-1998):
Led research team to use UAV data to study cloud absorption, and examine directional dependence of reflected radiation.

Co-I, Scanner for Radiation Budget (ScaRaB) International Science Team (1995-1998):
Validated Earth Radiation Budget Experiment (ERBE) wide-field-of-view and GOES fluxes using ScaRaB data.

PI, ERBE Science Team (1981-1995):
Led team to develop time-space averaging methods to determine diurnal cycle of clouds and radiation and examine the radiative impact of clouds and volcanoes.

PI, FIRE/TOGA/COARE Science Team (1992-1996):
Led research team to study microphysical and radiative properties of tropical cirrus clouds and validate satellite retrievals of cloud parameters.

PI & Project Scientist, US Navy Atlantic Stratocumulus Transition Experiment (ASTEX) (1989-1996):
